Fishing the Reach
Prinyers Cove Marina is located at the mouth of The Adolphus Reach, in immediate proximity to some of the best bass, walleye, and trout fishing southern Ontario offers.
As autumn arrives and cooler nights become more common, a special time of the year unfolds. During this period, large walleye migrate from Lake Ontario through the Adolphus Reach and into the Bay of Quinte. Here, they feed on available bait and prepare for their spring spawn. The most effective method for targeting these trophy walleye is trolling deep crankbaits with planer boards to stagger depths and presentations. This unique location offers the possibility of catching walleye in the 10 to 13-pound range and even larger.

Take the bait!
Experience an extraordinary Lake Trout fishery where using jigging plastics, blade baits, and rattle baits results in phenomenal fishing. Engaging in interactive jigging, aided by sonar technology, provides an exhilarating way to catch lake trout. These impressive fish, often weighing 20 pounds or more, swim depths of 50 feet or deeper to strike your bait. Whether you prefer to jig or troll, there’s an opportunity to land some fantastic lake trout, with a chance of encountering specimens even larger!
Nice Catch!
The best time for smallmouth bass fishing is from September through early November. During this time, a significant bass population takes advantage of the abundant round goby and other baitfish. We consistently catch bass in the 5-pound class, and each season yields a few trophy catches, making this a world-class smallmouth fishery.
Our success depends on our adaptability as we adjust our presentations and techniques based on the prevailing conditions and the mood of the fish. Despite challenging weather during this season, we take advantage of windows of slack winds to make the most of our fishing adventures.
